    Description

Here is a very high end, commercial duty mask that, as I was told, was sometimes used by the fighter and bomber pilots during Desert Storm.  The numbers listed on the front are as follows:  92114, 07878/76211, and NSN 1660-01 052-8859LS.  According to the research I did on these numbers, this mask was used with the HGU 39 helmet during high altitude flying.  I was also told that they used this mask when flying through the area where the oil wells were burning and the smoke was really thick.  Although there is a good chance it was flown as part of the flight crew’s safety equipment in an aircraft, it does not look like it has ever been used.  There are some extremely faint scuffs on the lens that you can only see if you look very closely, but they are so light that I couldn’t get them to show up in the photos.
It is a very intricate, very expensive mask that has a built-in mic, fresh air inlet, no-fog face piece that routes the fresh air through vents up against the face piece to prevent fogging, rubber lanyard with electrical and oxygen connection, padded head strapping, one way breathing diaphragms, protective fabric lens cover for storage, etc. etc.  It says on it that it is actually a “Mask, Chemical-Biological-Oxygen” and pretty much does it all.  The full face coverage and design protects eyes, mouth, nose etc. from exposure while providing a comfortable padded strapping system and a very large field of view compared to most other masks.  This would be of extra benefit to the pilots who would use this mask, or anyone who needs a broad field of vision to keep an eye on their surroundings.  This mask looks to be in new condition, but I am selling this mask at a fraction of its price when it was originally purchased by the government.
Due to its military origin, FAA regulations etc. this item is sold for display use within the United States of America only, and is not sold for use in an aircraft as originally intended.  Thanks for viewing this listing.
