  • Condition: Doll is in very good condition for this vintage. Composition body seems in very good shape. There is the expected wear to the body varnish or paint, consequently show blackening in her fingers and forearms, together with some loss of composition material close to the ball joints. Coloring of her face, sleep eyes and eyelids, fur eyelashes are all very good....She does have a couple of very small color loss (in her cheeks, you can see in photo number 12 a small white spot). Her wig is original and probably mohair, would need some re- styling. Her stringing is very firm specially the legs that are very tight, the arms are good and can go up and hold a pose but not as strong. Her clothes (I am assuming the original) have been hand washed with appropriate delicate soap and are very clean, the silk dress is also in beautiful shape but has a stain that couldn't be removed in the gentle wash. Original shoes, socks, underwear, all in vintage good condition

    Description

    For sale is this lovely and antique Kestner 20 inch doll all made in Germany. She has bisque socket head with lovely dark sleep brown eyes with fur eyelashes, in great working condition. Her "feathered" brows and (regular) lower eyelashes are hand painted. Her mouth is open, with 4 square teeth and looking closer she seems to have the tongue too. She has a very sweet face with a chin dimple.
    Her head mark shows "Made in Germany.... 168/8 and her body has a stamp that reads "Germany 3382". Her mohair hair is "rooted" and well attached to its original wig cap. It doesn't look like the wig (and the cap that holds it to her head) have ever been removed from her head.
    She comes with all the clothes that you see in the photos, all seem original and are very clean and the best they can be. She is wearing a (faded I think) pink silk dress, with lace ruffles around the collar, the arms, the bottom of the dress, and some embroidered flowers in the front, very soft and delicate. She also wears some short pantaloons and an underdress in cotton with a small lace trim in the collar and bottom. She also wears a pink velvet bow on her hair. On her feet she has long dark brown heavy socks and her original leather shoes. Overall, she is a beauty!
    Keep in mind that the doll is an antique and comes as she is, she hasn't been repaired that I am aware of and has no major issues, and I am describing her to the best of my knowledge and ability.
