Presented is a fabulous quality sterling silver 5 piece tea set by Gorham. This set is done in the timeless and attractive Plymouth pattern. The set dates to 1925/1926. Each piece of the set has a monogram of 'CJL' in elegant script. The interiors of all the pieces are mint clean, and this set is ready to grace your home. The tea set consists of:
Teapot- 7 1/4 inches tall, capacity of about 24 fluid ounces.
Coffee pot- 9 3/4 inches tall, capacity of about 36 fluid ounces.
Sugar bowl- 6 1/4 inches tall.
Creamer- 6 1/2 inches tall.
Waste bowl- 4 1/2 inches tall.
Each piece is stamped with the maker's mark for Gorham as well as sterling and the name of the pattern, Plymouth. The coffee pot and the teapot have a date mark in the shape of a boat, for the year 1926. The other three pieces of the set have the date mark for 1925.
The set is in great condition. The handles are tight to the bodies with no give or wiggle. There are no splits, no dents, no leaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The total weight for the set is 2270 grams or 80.1 regular ounces.
