    Description

    This is an original June, 1947 Telephone Directory for Clinton County, Illinois which included listings for Aviston, Beckemeyer , Breese , Carlyle , Germantown and Trenton, Illinois and was published by the Illinois Bell Telephone Company. The book measures 6-1/8" x 9-1/4" and has 32 pages. The pages have residential listings on the top third of the page. The bottom two-thirds of the pages have classified and display ads for local businesses. (E-mail me if you would like me to check for a name in the residential section or a business in the business section.) Aviston has 1/3 of a page of listings, Beckemeyer has 1/2 a page of listings, Breese has 1-1/2 pages of listings, Carlyle has 2-1/2 pages of listings, Germantown has 1/2 of a page of listings and Trenton has 1 page of listings. The booklet is in good condition - the pages are browned with age and somewhat brittle - there is an ink stamp on the left side of the cover "Library Copy" - the corners have minor bumps/creases - - the upper left and upper right corner of the cover have a 1" diagonal crease - there is some light discoloration along the upper left spine.
